The XYZ art and culture center
KHUAN exhibition
KHUAN is a living spiritual concept deeply rooted in Lao culture, passed down through generations as a way of understanding the relationship between mind, body, and spirit.
At the heart of this exhibition is the deep meaning of KHUAN, the unseen spiritual forces that dwell within the human body and sustain balance, awareness, and inner harmony. Through the ritual of the Baci ceremony, KHUAN is called back, offering blessings, protection, and a return to wholeness.
This exhibition invites visitors to experience KHUAN beyond ritual, through research by Ms. Noksalika Phommavanh, contemporary installation art by Mr. Tomi Sithammarath, and Lao blessing messages with words that carry care, memory, and intention crafted by the community and delicately designed by two talented Lao artists, Mr. Kaiyasith Sirivongsa and Mr. Reming Vongphachanh. It is a space created for slowing down, reflecting, and reconnecting with oneself in a fast-moving world.
