Silpacheep Life by Silpakorn
The Queen Sirikit Foundation for the Promotion of Traditional Thai Handicrafts was established on July 21, 1976, inspired by Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s rural development work. Recognizing the cultural and artistic value of local crafts—such as textiles, basketry, and pottery—Her Majesty envisioned supporting and developing these crafts to both preserve Thailand’s heritage and generate income for rural communities.
Today, the Foundation operates over 300 craft centers nationwide, improving livelihoods and education opportunities for farming families while sustaining Thailand’s treasured traditions.
To carry forward this royal initiative, the Foundation has partnered with the Faculty of Decorative Arts, Silpakorn University, and the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture, Ministry of Culture, to present an exhibition of prototype lifestyle products under the Silapacheep brand. The showcase transforms traditional materials—woven and embroidered fabrics, wood carvings, ceramics, basketry, and more—into contemporary jewelry, fashion, home décor, and household items, reflecting creative innovation and modern appeal for new generations.
