BANGKOK DESIGN WEEK 2026, 29 JAN–8 FEB

Bangkok Community Radio X One Bangkok

Open Airwaves

Open Airwaves is a pop-up recording booth and creative shed open to all during Bangkok Design Week 2026. Inside, you’ll find DJ decks, microphones, songwriting tools, and a camera ready to capture your sonic moment. Members of the public can come inside to DJ, sing a verse, or sketch out lyrics. Open Airwaves participants can explore sound as a form of self-expression. No experience required, just curiosity. Helper sheets and prompts are available to guide participants' sessions, and every recording becomes part of a living archive of Bangkok’s voices, rhythms, and ideas. After each content recording period, BCR (Bangkok Community Radio) will play curated highlights, allowing the city to tune into its own creative pulse. These broadcasts will air on Bangkok Community Radio throughout the week, interwoven with other Design Week programming and soundscapes. Select sessions may also be featured in public listening zones, pop-up exhibitions, or online archives spotlighting spontaneous creativity from across the city as part of design week. Open Airwaves celebrates the everyday artist and invites everyone to contribute to a shared sonic portrait of Bangkok during its most imaginative week of the year.
