Charm-Learn studio

Charm-Learn studio

Charm-Learn Studio was founded by three artists—Nattapon Wannaporn, Chanchai Boriboon, and Thanita Yothawong—who were former classmates at the same institution. All three graduated with a major in ceramics from the Faculty of Decorative Arts, Silpakorn University. After graduation, each pursued different career paths. However, their shared passion for ceramic art eventually brought them back together. They decided to open a studio to both teach ceramics to interested learners and create ambitious ceramic works. The name 'Charm-Learn' is a play on words combining 'charm,' meaning bowls in Thai, and 'Charoen,' meaning to flourish. The inspiration came from antique ceramic ware engraved with the Thai word for flourish. The resulting name conveys a sense of flourishing bowls—symbolizing growth and development—while also aligning with the English name 'Charm-Learn.' This reflects both charm and learning, emphasizing the studio’s philosophy of helping learners develop creativity and charm through clay work and experimentation. Charm-Learn Studio is located on Charoen Rat Road, Khlong San District, Bangkok. The studio frequently experiments with translating everyday Thai objects into ceramic form—such as traditional iced coffee glasses, paper cups, foam food containers, and tiffin carriers—resulting in works that feel 'familiar yet different.' The studio’s works have received several design awards, including the PM Award 2017, DEmark Award 2017, and G Mark Good Design Award 2017. Charm-Learn is one of only two Thai studios—alongside InClay Studio in Chiang Mai—selected to develop products for the Found MUJI Thailand project. Works from the Daily Life series (e.g., ceramic versions of iced coffee glasses, foam boxes, and more) resulting from this project were made available at selected MUJI stores in Thailand.
