ESG-Oriented Creative Experiment for the Sustainable Regener

This project presents an ESG-oriented curatorial experiment that responds to the dual urgency of cultural and environmental sustainability. Grounded in the curator’s long-term observation in Bangkok and multi-dimensional action research, the initiative begins with a study of the cultural landscape of Bangkok’s Old Town, where shop signs are regarded as vessels of everyday craftsmanship. By transforming their visual language into collective and interactive experiences, the project demonstrates how traditional craftsmanship can be regenerated and reinterpreted within contemporary urban culture, turning preservation into an active and participatory process of cultural renewal. Through the reinterpretation of fading Chinese signage with design, research, and material innovation, cultural memory is not only safeguarded but also revitalized as a regenerative act. Extending beyond the exhibition itself, the project collaborates with the ESG program of the Asia-oriented WYNIST Group to probe new intersections between culture and sustainability. Within this framework, promotional materials are reclaimed and recontextualized as future exhibition artifacts—echoing the principle of circularity while embodying a vision of culture as regenerative practice. Through this curatorial lens, design becomes not only a tool of rescue (S/O/S) but also a catalyst for reimagining how heritage, waste, and participation can converge into a shared future.
