Long(Act)evity: Try to Act is a play on the word “longevity.” Here, “long,” meaning “try” in Thai, refers to the linear stretch of the Phadung Krung Kasem Canal, and “act” refers to action or activities.
Together, “Long Act” or “ลองแอ๊ก” in Thai refers to trying out activities along the canal—revitalizing the waterfront and connecting communities to a better quality of life.
The project integrates the concept of “Eyes on the Street,” transforming a once uncomfortable, overlooked passage into a lively, colorful, and safe environment. Through public activities such as walking, running, play-based learning, and music, the canal-side becomes a vibrant gathering place, fostering a sense of belonging and strengthening bonds between residents and public space. Ultimately, the project reclaims this urban asset for the community, enhancing both daily well-being and the city's longevity.
This project is a partnership with the Foundation for Child Development.
