Fascinating Bangkok - Art Empowers Enterprises [CHINA]
Foshan Nanhai, a major manufacturing hub in China, also stands as a driving force of cultural and creative innovation in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. Bangkok, designated by UNESCO as a “Creative City of Design,” plays a leading role in shaping the creative economy across ASEAN. Centering on Bangkok as the primary collaborative venue, this project aligns with the overall theme of Bangkok Design Week 2026: “S/O/S (Strengthen–Opportunity–Sustain)”, aiming to build a high-level, cross-border platform for cultural and design exchange between the Greater Bay Area and ASEAN.
The exhibition is structured around three core sections—Production, Lifestyle, and Ecology—presenting Nanhai’s achievements in new design, cultural innovation, and creative practices. Beyond showcasing products, the project emphasizes cross-cultural co-creation with Thai designers, art teams, and university students.
Project Scope: The exhibition covers production-oriented design products, lifestyle goods, urban cultural creations, and innovations in intangible cultural heritage, spanning design manufacturing, cultural creativity, handicrafts, urban cultural goods, and lifestyle aesthetics.
Key Features:
Traditional Lingnan cultural symbols—such as the lion dance and dragon boat culture—are reinterpreted through modern technology and contemporary design, creating cultural environments that are interactive, experiential, and shareable.
The project also includes diverse interactive activities such as China–Thailand co-creation workshops, dragon-boat paddle art sessions, intangible cultural heritage experiences, and contemporary lion dance performances, fostering deeper engagement and collaboration among designers, youth communities, and the public from both regions.
