Community Architecture by ArchSU

Pop-Ups in the Alleys 03

This project is an experimental design showcase by second-year students from the Faculty of Architecture, Silpakorn University, as part of their Community Architecture course. The initiative explores new possibilities for developing a creative economy within the Pak Khlong Talat district. By narrating the stories of six specific locations along the Bangkok Design Week 2026 route, the project utilizes everyday objects and local symbols found within each neighborhood to create striking, unconventional forms that invite passersby to stop and wonder. The primary goal of this project is to revitalize overlooked spaces by weaving together stories of the people, cultural diversity, and the unique atmosphere of each community. It aims to ensure that those walking by do not merely "see" the space, but truly "perceive" the hidden meanings embedded within. Furthermore, these six pop-up installations serve as navigational waypoints, creating a seamless and engaging journey for visitors exploring the Bangkok Design Week 2026 circuit.
