BANGKOK DESIGN WEEK 2026, 29 JAN–8 FEB

อัคระแบงค็อก

Akara Mahanakorn

This work reveals the "inner voices" and hidden thoughts of Bangkokians through a simulated "Old Town" shophouse block, featuring a traditional grocery store, a local shrine, and the vibrant atmosphere of a classic commercial district. The language throughout the installation is sharp, satirical, and humorous, capturing fleeting thoughts familiar to every Bangkok resident yet rarely spoken aloud. These musings are conveyed through graphic design—posters, logos, advertisements, and vintage-style products—all crafted with a retro aesthetic that blends seamlessly into the space. The exhibition unfolds the city dweller’s internal monologue, inviting viewers to explore, reflect, and reconnect with their own feelings. Ultimately, the piece reflects the dynamic relationship between the city, its people, and the language that endures amidst Bangkok’s constant evolution.
