mapmap GO!
mapmap GO!
“mapmap GO!” is more than just a map. It contains stories that will help you understand the city through walking experience.
There are many hidden things to be discovered in Bangkok. From the historical places and vibrant communities which reflect the way of life, to physical elements such as residences, social areas, temples and many other architectural structures. Nature is also integrated into the city. Even though it has been forgotten by many people, it still provides services to humans and other urban creatures such as pleasure and good quality of life.
Out of our passion for driving urban development with data, we and our partners have developed "mapmap" data platform to manage and collect data in various dimensions, such as green public spaces (which support the 15-minute park policy with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration). We also plan to open the data to the public through online channels in the future to lead to participatory urban and neighborhood planning.
“mapmap GO!” is a map that promotes neighborhood exploration through routes that take people to learn more about the area, especially in terms of urban environment and culture. It is one of the results obtained from the data in "mapmap" database, which collects data, including spatial data such as roads, waterways, buildings, tree cover, and important areas, information data such as precipitation, temperature, air pollution, and demographics, and analyzed data such as inclusive designs, etc. These data are used to design and evaluate walking routes through a participatory process with the community.
Bangkok Yai is a district near the city center that is easy to access. It also has many interesting communities and natural elements, and has very strong and active citizens. This makes it the most suitable area for being a pilot area of mapmap GO!.
