Cycling is an iconic part of Dutch culture, symbolizing the nation's transformation towards people-centric, livable, and inclusive cities. In line with the theme ‘Design Up+Rising: Facing Challenges with a Positive Twist,’ the Netherlands Embassy in Bangkok and Bangkok Urban Cycling Alliance (BUCA) will screen the Dutch documentary When We Cycle. This film highlights how the deep-rooted culture of cycling in the Netherlands has evolved, focusing on urban design, social, and planning elements that have integrated cycling into the Dutch lifestyle, from past traditions to modern innovations. To support Bangkok's efforts to improve bike-sharing systems and illustrate how bicycles can contribute to greener, healthier cities, participants are encouraged to arrive by bike to make the event more engaging and memorable. We would like to invite urban planners, architects, NGOs, policymakers, cycling advocates, and anyone interested in sustainable mobility and urban design to join this event.
