Design For Change Thailand: The Future of Wellbeing In Focus

The International Design for Change Thailand 2025: The Future of Wellbeing in Focus is a collaborative initiative aimed at addressing pressing health and well-being challenges in Thailand through innovative design solutions. It was created from an international collaboration between the Department of Creative Arts, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Faculty of Psychology, and Faculty of Nursing at Chulalongkorn University (CU) Thailand, and the School of Design, School of Psychology, and School of Nursing at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Australia, to turn creative ideas into actionable solutions. This initiative includes a range of engaging activities such as international symposiums, study tours, design sprints, and exhibitions, all designed to foster collaboration and creativity. In Thailand, we face significant health and well-being challenges, including rising rates of non-communicable diseases, mental health issues, and access to healthcare. Urbanization and lifestyle changes further exacerbate these issues, making it imperative to find effective, sustainable solutions. To facilitate the transition from concepts to real-world applications, we propose presenting our findings at an exhibition during Bangkok Design Week. This platform will engage government officials, stakeholders, and the public, encouraging dialogue and collaboration. By sharing our insights and solutions, we hope to inspire the integration of sustainable health practices into government frameworks. Ultimately, our goal is to contribute to a healthier and more resilient future for all citizens, addressing the unique health challenges faced in Thailand while promoting well-being through design.
