loqa - sustainable building materials
Loqa’s tiles and bricks are the result of an innovative process that uses waste materials from various industries (circular design). The main ingredients are ceramic, glass, and ash, which make up 80-95% of the products, depending on their type. There are two types of forming techniques: firing and unfired. The firing method uses 15% less heat than normal bricks or tiles. For the unfired method, the team has researched using chemical bonds to form the pieces instead of using heat, completely cutting carbon dioxide emissions from firing. Both processes not only use less energy but also use very little water in production. This makes it a material that truly meets the requirements of sustainable environments.
