The designs on display are the work of Metaphor Design Studio, a firm built on the belief that “good design tells a story.” And this time, their story began with a chance encounter: discarded "rubber tile scraps" left over from an installation. While many saw worthless waste, Metaphor saw hidden potential in the imperfect geometric shapes, the varied colors, and the material's flexibility that invited experimentation. Inspiration from Imperfection In art and design, imperfection is often the most powerful starting point. This project is no different. The designers studied and understood the unique form of each scrap piece, then pieced them together artistically like a puzzle, with no two pieces being exactly alike. By using this furniture in a real environment, we see that art isn’t just for admiration; it can seamlessly integrate into people’s daily lives. Art in Daily Life Every time a customer at Co-incidence.process.coffee places a coffee cup on a table or sits down to work on a chair made from these rubber scraps, art and function merge. This exhibition is more than just a show; it tells the story of transforming "waste into value." It breaks conventional thinking and demonstrates that seemingly worthless materials can be endlessly repurposed. The exhibition is also an invitation for everyone to look at their surroundings again.
