EM DISTRICT Opens Its Space for University Students to Showcase Creative Power through
“Something to Stay__On,”
Sparking Sustainability through Design at Bangkok Design Week 2026
EM DISTRICT (Emporium, EmQuartier, and Emsphere) has partnered with the Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization), or CEA, to co-host Bangkok Design Week 2026 under the theme “DESIGN S/O/S.” The initiative serves as a call to designers and creatives across all disciplines to come together to think, act, and create in their own distinctive ways in response to various challenges affecting both local and global communities. As part of the Academic Program, university students are invited to unlock their design skills and present their ideas through boundless artistic creations at Emsphere.
This year, EM DISTRICT continues its commitment to supporting the Thai art and design community as the Art District of Sukhumvit and Bangkok, opening an inspiring space for students participating in the Academic Program for the second consecutive year. Following the strong, positive response from both participating students and the public last year, this year’s concept “Something to Stay___On” encourages participants to express their perspectives through art and design that reflect sustainability and the resilience of contemporary cities. Using local materials or environmentally friendly resources, students create works that are tangible, enduring, people-centered, functional, and inspiring.
The program features over 17 student teams from 11 universities, each presenting uniquely designed works that creatively reflect their individual viewpoints and ideas. All selected works will be produced and exhibited on-site during Bangkok Design Week 2026 at EM DISTRICT.
Experience the power of creativity at Bangkok Design Week 2026, taking place from 29 January to 8 February 2026 at EM DISTRICT.
