Public Space Design SOS: Sit (Swing) & Count

To enhance walkability, we temporarily closed the slip lane and transformed the central island in the Sao Ching-cha (The Giant Swing) area into a public space. BMA Street Furniture was repurposed as “Spy Furniture,” providing seating for observation. Visitors participated as “spies,” exploring how people used the space by answering questions, counting activities, mapping, and testing various walking routes. These insights informed proposals to improve the space and better address community needs.
