European Product Design Award
Regenerative Design for a People-First Government, Shaping a
Design in Thailand is evolving fast—and the most interesting work is happening where global expertise meets local realities : climate, public life, movement, identity, and community. Join The European Product Design Award and its partners for a compact session featuring two back-to-back talks by renowned Thai and French designers who have shaped major projects and brands in Thailand—each a real case study with lessons you can apply immediately.
Talk 1 - (13:30–14:00) — Shaping a New Sports Brand: Product, Identity, and Retail Explores how a new-generation sports brand can build a powerful and coherent identity across branding, product innovation, and physical retail experience. Centered on the journey of VING Run, a disruptive Thai running brand , the session examines how close collaboration with Essential Studio shaped the brand from its early positioning to product storytelling and the design of its flagship store at Bangkok’s National Stadium.
Talk 2 (14:00–14:30) — Regenerative Design for a People-First Government. Explores the transformative Thailand Government Complex — one of Southeast Asia’s largest administrative hubs — reimagined through regenerative landscape design to prioritize people, ecology, and civic life. The project retrofitted a formerly car-dominated campus into a vibrant, climate-resilient public realm by reclaiming over 18.5 acres of impermeable surface, replacing hardscape with green plazas, shaded walkways, and a central civic lawn. Key regenerative strategies include rainwater catchment systems and bioswales for stormwater management, vertical greenery and extensive tree planting to reduce urban heat, and solar panels now supplying more than half of the complex’s energy needs.
Presented by the European Product Design Award (EPDA) in collaboration with its partners FIT Awards, BLT Awards, and GFA Awards, this session reflects the organizers’ mission to go beyond awards—creating platforms where design knowledge, real projects, and international perspectives meet. Through talks, education, and global partnerships, EPDA, FIT Awards, BLT Awards, and GFA Award connect designers, brands, and institutions shaping the future of product, spatial, and urban design.
