The ‘variation’ comes from our awareness of the ‘difference’ from what we used to In a social context, a ‘variegation’ has a correlation with a ‘difference’ in age, gender, opinion etc. as the world is opening up, society becomes aware, and accepts the ‘difference’ and ‘variegation’ equally. (Essence) the superficial meaning of ‘variegation’ is the condition of ‘difference’ that occurs to the current condition and is often weeded out from nature. But right now, the ‘variegation’ became the focus and being valued. Whether it’s the ‘variegation’ that appeared on people, plants, animals, things, art pieces, designs, architecture, and even people’s thoughts. STUX2 presents D-7J X 3-7J (ด่าง X ต่าง), a site-specific architectural installation, where the installation of architectural components are experimented to create the ‘variegation’ in architecture, atmosphere, and social context. The ‘variegation’ is also shown on the body of visitors through shapes and spaces in the architect, colours and lights, meaning, function, memory, symbol, phenomenon, form, system, standards, awareness within the space, lay on the context of architecture and environment in Charoenkrung district. The experimental installation attracts people’s reactions and interaction through the ‘variegation’ in architecture. Not only presenting the ‘difference’ in the installation but also inviting the visitor to be a part of the experiment. The installation invites visitors to break from the frame of awareness, understanding, and the usual functions of these architectural components. Through the interaction and experience with the installation, the work ‘difference’ is truly realised. (Reactive) STUX2 tries to design the experimental site-specific architectural installation that relates to what’s in people’ hearts and presents new meaning to ‘variegation’ and ‘difference’ in the present context. It is an experimental process seeking new meaning and possibilities in creative art and architecture which has always been the interest of STUX2.
