If we put it simply, this is an immersive exhibition designed to showcase the potential of design and the relationship between wind and the five human senses. It is the result of a collaboration between Hatari and Habits Design Studio, the Milan-based studio behind Hatari’s complete rebranding.

For those who visited Bangkok Design Week (BKKDW) 2024, this exhibition serves as a continuation of last year’s Designing the Wind.

“After introducing our design journey last year, we wanted to take a more abstract approach this time. Our concept, ‘500 Cubic Meters of Wind,’ explores how wind interacts with our five senses, creating a sensory experience that visitors can truly feel,” explained Tassaluck Panichtrakul, Assistant Managing Director of Research & Development at Hatari.

“We see global trends shifting, and consumer preferences changing. Fans are no longer just electrical appliances—design has become a key factor in purchasing decisions. Now, we need to create wind that aligns with today’s lifestyles,” added Chanya Panichtrakul, Assistant Managing Director of Sales & Marketing, emphasizing the exhibition’s focus on user experience.

The Hatari X Habits: 500 Cubic Meters of Wind exhibition is divided into three key zones:

‘Design Field’, the exhibition’s highlight, features a large rectangular structure filled with natural and uniquely Thai materials. Designed to engage all five senses, it invites visitors to experience wind in different forms—its shape, touch, sound, scent, and even taste. For the latter, Hatari has partnered with Guss Damn Good to create a special ice cream flavor inspired by Hatari’s wind.

‘Design Library’ showcases Hatari’s fan collection, arranged in a museum-like setting. This section highlights the results of last year’s fan redesign journey, which was the main theme of the previous exhibition.

‘Design Lab’ brings together Hatari, Habits Design Studio, and the Department of Industrial Design at Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Architecture. Through this collaboration, young designers participated in hands-on workshops with world-class designers. Hatari’s mission to support Thai talent and the local design industry is reflected here, with four curated student projects on display.

“One of our goals is to contribute to Thailand’s design industry. Even though we’re a product brand, the more awareness consumers have about design, the more it influences other aspects of their lives,” Chanya explained.

“We want to be part of Bangkok’s design movement,” Tassaluck concluded.

Experience Hatari’s wind for yourself at Bangkok Design Week 2025 – ‘Design Up+ Rising’, happening at Central Post Office, Charoenkrung, from February 8-16, 2025.
