Phadung+Play: Shaping the Future of Public Spaces
This installation—a scaled map of the Klong Phadung Krung Kasem / Hua Lamphong area, laid out on the ground with movable city elements—will engage residents, BKKDW attendees, and the greater public to co-create and envision the future of urban spaces in Bangkok through interactive activities and workshops.
Through this exhibition, participants will come together to address urban challenges with a positive mindset, reflecting the “Design Up+Risingˮ theme of using creativity to solve real-world problems. This engagement breaks conventional limits in urban design, empowering communities to actively shape a more inclusive and adaptable city, and drive social, environmental, and urban transformation for Bangkokʼs future.
This program is co-organized by Bangkok's Urban Studies Lab (USL)—a research institute and consultancy of urban practitioners and academics—and InsightPact—a learning and development agency focused on creating a world where all organizations measurably support the wellbeing of people and the planet. Together, we bring expertise in design thinking, community engagement, urban studies, and facilitation to accomplish our shared goal of creating a more equitable future.
