Media Architecture emerged from the advancement of digital technology, which began to play an essential role in architectural design. Architects and designers started exploring new ways to integrate lighting technology and digital displays into buildings and structures, such as using LED lights and large-scale screens on building facades, to create innovative experiences for viewers and people in the surrounding areas. Additionally, digital media has been used to create interactive public art installations that engage with people in urban spaces. Media Architecture has thus become a key concept in the development of new forms of buildings and public spaces. Media Architecture: THE NEW URBAN DIALOGUE by ESIC Lab, Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), is a seminar event focused on urban development through the lens of Media Architecture. It is designed for architects, designers, artists, and urban developers, offering a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences in integrating digital media with architectural practices, buildings, and public spaces. The seminar also explores new approaches to urban development, fostering the advancement of design knowledge and creativity. This initiative aims to create a tangible impact on the lives of urban residents, enhance the potential of creative works through new technologies, and provide opportunities for policy development in support of creative professionals and Thailand's creative industries. Speakers: - Dave Colangelo, an artist and researcher specializing in Urban Media Environments, from the Creative School, Toronto Metropolitan University, Canada, and the organizer of Media Architecture Biennale 2023. - Assistant Professor Priyakorn Pusaviro, PhD, a scholar and expert in Digital Media Technology and Interactive Education, and a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT).
