Aek Wild Sax
Aek Wild Sax is a project that began with Aek "Sax Pa", or Ekachai Thepraksa, a saxophonist from Chiang Mai who collaborated and recorded with numerous artists while frequently jamming with musicians and bands both locally and beyond.
In later years, Aek started writing his own songs and producing demos, including both instrumental and vocal tracks. Some of his instrumental compositions were performed by Doggy during their tour in China. Upon returning to Chiang Mai, Aek continued playing and jamming with friends at various venues before officially forming the project Aek Wild Sax & Friends with fellow musicians: Jack (saxophone), Earth (guitar), Kan (drums), and Shiro (bass). The group made their debut at Maehongson Music Fest 2022, later expanding their repertoire and performing at POP Market during Chiang Mai Design Week 2022. Aek also released a studio-recorded single, "Khop Khun Tee Klap Ma" (Thank You for Coming Back), before performing at Pai Blues Jazz 2023.
Tragically, in August 2023, Aek passed away in an accident. In 2024, his bandmates decided to complete and release the unfinished songs he had written, as well as perform his music live. Their goal is to honor Aek’s memory by sharing his work with both those who miss him and new listeners who may not have had the chance to know his music.
