A jazz performance and workshop by Tanakrit Talks Jazz Jazz was born in the United States during a period full of racism and social inequality. However, here in Bangkok, jazz has a different image. It is the music of the rich, the word 'jazz' itself is almost a symbol of status. Oftentimes when you ask what people think of jazz, they would think of being in a high-end hotel bar sipping on a fancy drink. The purpose of the workshop is to introduce the type of jazz that goes beyond just the music for high-class socializing. Through the workshop and performance, we will introduce the audience to a variety of style ranging from traditional swing jazz all the way to free jazz.
