Domestic+City Unit

The Forgotten Dimension

Domestic+City Unit is a group of young architects and designers from different regions of Thailand who believe that creating a better city is not just about design, but the ability to question and investigate the problems within society to create a positive impact. “A Space without form: rethink the idea of standardization” is an exhibition that represents the investigation and questioning of the spaces everyone uses daily, not in terms of the shapes of the spaces but through the dimension of the objects and activities they facilitate each day. The project seeks to spark a realization in visitors during Bangkok Design Week of the need to rethink how architectural dimensions and standardization in the present have a great impact on ways of thinking within the architecture and design professions. The thinking behind the project is that “urban’NICE’zation” cannot rely on the idea of ‘one size fits all’ and rather requires a diversity of ideas and solutions for a more sustainable and friendlier city.
