Marionsiam

The siam renaissance

With a passion for Thai arts and crafts that can be felt in its handmade products, each Marionsiam piece is unique: “a true wearable work of art.” One technique the brand often uses is “Batik in the style of Marionsiam”. Batik has a history of more than 2000 years. It is a creative technique that requires talent and the experience of a craftsman to write with candles. This gives each piece its own uniqueness and charm, like that of a painting. Marionsiam's take on batik is Urban Batik, emphasizing the use of watercolor techniques to create patterns, and the use of soft tones that while not vivid are still outstanding in the Marionsiam style. Marionsiam is a name inspired by the novel "Thawiphop", which includes a moment where the heroine is called "My Marion" (Beloved woman), and this collection continues with that inspiration. The novel tells the love story of people living in two eras, one in the reign of King Rama V (1886), and the other a student from abroad living in the present. It is a story that perfectly brings together the atmosphere of Thailand's past and present. This collection draws on elements from the novel, from its garlands to clothing structures and colors of the styles prevalent during the reign of King Rama V in Thailand and European, which were cut and redesigned to suit the modern era. In addition, most of the fabrics used are good quality cotton leftover from the textile industry as a starting material for production to help reduce waste and also reduce the production of CO2 to the environment.
