urbaNICE Map
Urban-NICE Interactive Map is a website that updates real-time events and relevant programs from Bangkok Design Week 2023 and crowdsources visitor reports and opinions. A web map, the data can be accessed, interacted with, or viewed without needing to install an additional application.
The Urban-NICE map aims to offer BKKDW2023 visitors a novel interface and trusted source to view updates and a channel for visitors to communicate and interact. Aligning with the urban’NICE’zation theme, the platform promotes civic digital literacy through citizen science and public participation.
The platform uses social media chatbots (Line, Facebook, or Twitter) to let authenticated BKKDW2023 staff provide time-bound updates on events and activities shown on the map. Visitors can use the same social media chatbots to report their thoughts, experiences, and suggestions or even any surprise discoveries using a nice-ness scale. The reports will give direct experiential feedback for BKKDW2023 programs and reveal any urban issues and observations, acting as a prototype for reinforcing active urban citizenship where urban community assets provide data for future planning.
