Office of Contemporary Art and Culture, Ministry of Culture Thailand, in collaboration with SATARANA and the College of Music, Mahidol University, proudly present the contemporary music performance titled “History of Chinese culture in Thailand through the song ‘A Musical Journey Through A Century of Yaowarat’” directed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanaphon Setaprahman along with the Silpathorn Artist of 2007 in Music field and Dean of the College of Music, Mahidol University, Dr. Narong Prangcharoen. The performance aims to portray each period of Yaowarat in the past 100 years, by selecting songs that reflect influence and dialogue between Thai and Chinese societies, such as famous pop songs in those days, traditional Thai songs which are rooted from Chinese society, musical soundtracks, TV drama soundtracks, etc.
